Why Jubilee erred in withdrawing Joho's security
, by Nyamu Wa Mwombe
Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho at a past media briefing.

Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has emerged the worst opponent UhuRuto has faced apart from Raila Odinga during their dramatic rein.

Joho is a nightmare in the Jubilee camp therefore fighting him is their priority.

The governor has confronted President Kenyatta and DP William Ruto fearlessly over various issues in the country.

He is what ODM Party leader Raila Odinga has been missing for decades.

Joho is a lethal Raila loyalist that Jubilee feels must be tamed like KANU .

The withdrawal of Governor 001 security detail is a mis-advised calculation that Jubilee is applying to deal with their formidable opponent.

The end result will be a more popular and famous Joho.

As he speaks against the government, Joho will point out his security withdrawal as a cheap government intimidation methodology.

The electorate will be easily swayed due to the government’s mistaken decision.

Telling the president plain facts about the source of funds directed to Mombasa projects does not warrant this kind of punishment.

If Jubilee is not providing funds for the said World Bank funded projects, then what is the point of getting infuriated?

Coastarians have a right to accurate information, something that Joho chose to deliver.

If responding to abuses directed to the opposition is what has rubbed UhuRuto the wrong way, then the discipline should start at home with Parliament Majority Leader Aden Duale.

Joho lashes out at government officials criticing Raila and other opposition officials, the same script applied by Duale, Murkomen and Kuria against Jubilee critics.

Joho will definitely continue revealing corruption in government and building his profile in preparation for the 2022 elections.

The government should conceal their fear of Joho. He can be dealt with using other smart ways.
