Blow to MCAs as new law requires them to have degrees

President Uhuru Kenyatta signing into law the Elections Ammendment Bill.

President Uhuru Kenyatta has dealt a blow to majority of people planning to run for MCAs within counties across the country.

This is after he assented the controversial Election Laws bill.

“Besides the complimentary voting mechanism, there are new insertions in the amended Bill including the requirement for Members of Parliament and members of County Assemblies to have a degree from a recognized university from before they can seek being elected into office,” PSCU said.

This new development will send a majority of villagers who wanted to run back to the drawing board.
