Police in Bungoma are holding a 29-year-old man who surrendered himself after allegedly killing his sister.
Residents of Misemwa Village in Kanduyi, Bungoma have been left in deep shock after a man, who was later identified as Kizito Wafula presented himself to officers at Siritayi police station after he killed his blood sister under unclear circumstances.
The deceased, Abigail Wafula, 16, is said to have been a standard eight pupil of Ngoli Primary School before she met her tragic death.
Wafula died after being kicked in her stomach several times by the brother. The father of the deceased, Emmanuel Wafula said that his two children had been engaging in endless quarrels since he learnt about her daughter’s pregnancy, adding that she passed on while they were striving to find a motorcycle to take her to the hospital for treatment.
"My daughter died as we were struggling to get a motorcycle to take her to the hospital," Wafula said, as Star quoted.
The father further said that the man is known to be short-tempered, adding that losing their daughter is a painful experience for the family.
"Kizito is usually highly tempered. We had warned him against fighting with his pregnant sister. "We sacrificed a lot to ensure she did not drop out of school," he said.
The mother of the deceased was overwhelmed with emotions until she could not speak to the press.
