Mr Ruto is assembling a formidable team ahead of 2022 battle and is keen not to abandon politicians who will boost his campaigns.

Former Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto, Uasin Gishu boss Jackson Mandago and Turkana's Josephat Manoj are said to be among the latest recruits to advisory team.

"These leaders have not been really working as close as they should and they have assumed advisory roles. They will be offering and even making political decision," an aide to DP, David Ogwagwa said.

He added: "They well especially handle the Rift Valley so that everything is put in order. They may not appear in public rallies but they will play a major role."

On Sunday, Ruto reunited with political nemesis Isaac Ruto at Bomet and the two pledged to work together.

Precisely, Ruto has been relying on advise from politicians among them Kipchumba Murkomen, Aden Duale, Aaron Cheruiyot and Nandi senator Samson Cherargei.
