The son of Mombasa Senator Mohammed Faki, is dead.
Former Mombasa 2017 senatorial aspirant and current advisor to Governor Ali Hassan Joho, Hamisi Mwaguya, mourned Ahmed Mwinyihaji on Friday morning following his demise on Thursday.
"I would like to pass my deepest condolences to Hon. Mohammed Faki and his family following the demise for their son Ahmed Mwinyihaji," the former CeC said.
Mwaguya who vied as an Independent candidate after losing in ODM party primaries to Faki, said he met Mwinyihaji after 2017 election campaigns and he was friendly.
"After the gruelling campaigns last year I happened to bump into Ahmed on several occasions he was quite cordial and friendly and we would joke about the 2017 campaigns. He came out as a humble promising young man and its huge loss to all those who knew him."
Up to publishing of this article, there has been no official communication from the family nor the County government of Mombasa about the senator's loss.
