A court in Malindi, Kilifi County has found an Imam guilty of sodomising his 9-year-old stepson.
Malindi Principal Magistrate Silvia Wewa directed that Omar Said Omar undergoes a social audit led by the Prosecution before the court sentences him.
Omar allegedly committed the offence on March 23, 2016, and gave the boy Sh10, warning him against revealing the ordeal.
The suspect is remanded at the Malindi Maximum Prison for 14 days pending the social audit.
The case which started in April 2016, caused havoc and pandemonium on April 4, 2016 at the Malindi Law Court when Said Omar was taking plea.
During that time, Omar pleaded not guilty and was released Sh200,000 bail and surety of the similar amount.
The case was mentioned on July 18, 2016 where a children officer tabled a report after assessing the situation of the victim.
The case prompted a section of Malindi Muslim women to protest outside the court condemning the vice on April 4, 2016.
