A toilet funded by Nakuru county government has lit political fires after claims emerged that it was built on a whooping Sh8.9M.
Governor Kinuthia Mbugua launched the public toilet in Elburgon.
THe claims emerged after a photo of the said toilets emerged and it was said the public toilet, which is just an average facility, raked the millions.
Angry residents are now demanding to know how the money was used claiming there is wanton theft of public resources by the county government and MCAs.
"8.9M for a toilet really??????" a resident, Damaris Barno, said.
"Come 2017 you have a choice to make," added Shish Nyeks.
Efforts by nominated MCA Catherine Waweru to cool things down by saying the toilet cos Sh2M was however futile.
"I need to clear out this mess. The said toilets cost two million shillings from the county government. The Nakuru news online author is the one who is doing all that he can do to malign the county government of Nakuru," stated Catherine via facebook
"Two million is still on the higher side we are just counting. Months we show them where they belong," Esther Muniu said.
ELburgon MCA Florence Wambui Njoroge when reached promised to get back to this writer but she hadn't done so by the time we went to press.
