Nyamira woman's praise for Governor Nyagarama after surprise visit

The solar lighting project launched last week by Governor John Nyagarama was more than a blessing to mama Rose Motanya from Kemasare village, Nyamira County.
Mama Rose is still coming to terms with the high-profile delegation, among the Governor Nyagarama, who visited her home to launch the project.
She told this writer it was her first time to host such a delegation, terming it a miracle.
"When preparations started the previous day to install the solar system in my house, I never believed that such a visitor (the Governor), would have time in my house. It is a miracle like the one in the Bible where Jesus visited Zacchaeus - the tax collector's house," said Rose.
Governor Nyagarama had visited her home together with other county officials to launch the project which seeks to light up rural homes from the region which have not been connected to the national grid.
Over 800 families across the 20 wards will be connected by solar power in the first phase which will cost Sh7 million even as the devolved unit targets over 1,6000 families in the project.
