The People of The Nile Festival, a first of its kind in Kenya, is set to be held in the Lakeside City of Kisumu from the 9th to 11th.
According to a press release sent to journalists by Eva Mukhwana who is the festival organizer, the main objective of the Festival is to create a multicultural memorable experience that showcases our diversity through music, art, culture dance and food.
“The Festival will present a perfect opportunity for people to come together and celebrate, enjoy and sample music, food, diverse cultures, art and community, from the people whose lives are intertwined and nourished by the mighty Nile River,” reads a section of the release.
The Festival will guarantee an activity packed, fun-filled and dazzling weekend for the many who will be looking for places to celebrate the long weekend.
The highlight of each day will be great musical performances by renowned musicians, traditional dancing troupes as well as other entertaining performances from the 9 countries along the Nile River including Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, Egypt, Sudan, South Sudan and Ethiopia.
Musicians will also perform at local venues throughout the weekend.
