Will Mandago withstand Serem, Buzeki in 2017?

Barely eight months to the 2017 polls, Uasin Gishu gubernatorial seat has been billed to a two-horse race, pitying the incumbent Jackson Mandago and Nandi County Health Chief Officer Dr Edward Serem.

Battle lines have already been drawn with Dr Serem seemingly attracting support from residents who feel the current administration had sidelined them in distribution of development projects and employment opportunities.

Dr Serem, who is yet to resign from his position has coiled his campaign around the "Usawa kwa Wote" theme loosely translated as "Equity to all".

Governor Mandago has on several occasions been forced to assure residents that he is serving them equally making frequent trips to Turbo Sub-county, perceived to be warming up for his competitor, Dr Serem. However that was before the entrance of a new aspirant for the seat, Bundotich Zedekia Kiprop, popularly referred to as Buzeki.

Buzeki is an established businessman who has interests in the transport sector and once owned a milk processing company, Buzeki Dairies.

It is barely a month since he declared interest for the County's top seat.

It is believed that Serem would be Buzeki's running mate, claims that the Nandi County Health Chief Office has dismissed.
