2016 KCPE, KCSE best performers to benefit from Sh20 million sponsorship

Limuru MP John Kiragu has urged needy students who attained good grades in recently released Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE)  and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) to apply for bursaries.

The MP notes that the Limuru Constituency Development Fund (CDF) will sponsor needy students who attained exemplary grades in 2016 KCPE and KCSE examination.

Speaking when he disbursed bursaries to needy students at Bibirioni Ward in Limuru, Chege said that Sh20 Million has been set aside to sponsor needy but bright students in the first quarter of this year.

“We are encouraging needy but bright students who scored good grades in KCPE and KCSE to apply for bursaries and continue with their studies,” he said.

The MP observed that the constituency has sponsored many needy students in the past. He observed that needy but bright students fail to further their studies for lacking school fees.

The MP urged the national and county government to increase funds allocated to education kitties.

Meanwhile, the MP has lauded Education CS Fred Matiang’i for the reforms he has introduced in the education sector.

The MP said that Matiang’i has done what his predecessors failed to do.He said that the sanity brought by the Education CS into the sector is laudable.

He noted that Kenyans and stakeholders now have faith in the education sector.
