Education CS Fred Matiang'i insists the 2016 KCSE results were credible.
According to the Star, Matiang'i said he led a credible examination last year.
"When I speak in public I speak in front of God. We led a credible examination," he said.
He said he will not be deterred in effecting reforms in the education sector.
"The Ministry of Education will not be distracted to go back to exam cheating where the rich used to steal exams. We will be firm in exam administration...Prophets of doom won't stop us from leveling the ground for all children no matter their tribe and region," he said.
He spoke Monday during the award of beneficiaries of the Wings to Fly sponsorship programme in Nairobi.
"We will not be distracted by prophets of doom who want us to return to the past. Teachers did a splendid job in supervising and marking exams," he added.
He assured parents that those who excelled in the exams were the ones who have joined the best schools in the country.
Several leaders among them Knut secretary general and ODM chief Raila Odinga have called for an audit of the 2016 KCSE results.
