Suspended varsity students call for Matiangi intervention
, by Loice Awino

Over 30 students who were suspended by Kirinyanga University have appealed for the intervention of Education CS Fred Matiangi.

The students who were given matching orders over alleged boycotting lectures have reached out to the CS to enable them be re-admitted at the institution.

According to the students, they were on an academic trip during the period they are said to have boycotted classes.

The suspension letters signed by the DVC ASA Prof Charles Omwadho stated "In the light of the evidence presented to the disciplinary committee 15th December, you were found guilty of contravening the Kirinyaga University statutes by leading a boycott of scheduled classes and field trip."

Before they were suspended, the students had been summoned by the disciplinary committee, through a letter signed by acting Registrar Wallace Kamau, on the 6th of December 2016.
