Otieno urges KPL defenders to improve
Former Harambee Stars captain Musa Otieno has questioned the mentality and attitude of Kenya Premier League defenders adding that they concede unnecessary goals.

Otieno also says conceding of unnecessary goals is a big concern for the preparation of the national team ahead of major international games scheduled this year.

The Harambee Stars Assistant coach also urged coaches at different levels to work on defense which he said was integral in any team's general performance.

"I watched KPL top 8 over the weekend and i was appalled by the mentality and attitude of our defenders. They concede very easy goals which I think is a major concern for our country," he said.

"If a team has a strong defense, then be guaranteed of good results. Our coaches needs to work on that at the club level so that we get refined players joining the national team. We have many games this year and I think its time we work on that," he added.

Otieno was a key player for Harambee Stars for years and represented the team in its last appearance in 2004 African Cup of Nations in Tunis.
