The fight between Deputy President William Ruto and Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto has taken center stage in the politics of the Rift Valley voting ahead of the August general polls.
DP Ruto is positioning himself as the heir of the current president and he cannot afford to leave any stone unturned as we head to the election.
The lawmaker (DP Ruto) has insisted that the current government has delivered most of the promises it made to the common mwananchi before the last general election.
On the other hand, Ruto, also Chama Cha Mashinani leader has continued to launch attack after attack against the Jubilee government.
The county boss, who is also NASA co-principal, has been claiming that the current leadership has hampered devolution since it took over power following the last general polls. The legislator insists that the two leaders have not fulfilled any of their promises since they ascended to power.
Governor Ruto has assured leaders of the opposition that he will deliver over 1.5 million votes to Cord leader Raila Amolo Odinga during the general elections.
If the governor keeps his promise, DP Ruto will have been dealt a major blow as he seeks to succeed President Kenyatta in 2022 as per their agreement.
