Being the nurse
Whenever your man is sick, it is your core duty as the girlfriend to be there for him and help him. He needs you most at this time and you should be there to nurse his wounds, ensure he takes his meds and that he is well fed. While you are not supposed to act wifely when still a girlfriend, you are allowed to do his dishes, laundry and cook him food when he is sick.
Support system
Men will always try to act strong even when they are tearing apart from inside. Your responsibility as his girlfriend is to always support him when he is going through difficult times at work or has family issues. He may not tell you that he is going through something but you being his girlfriend should know him well enough to notice when he has something bothering him.
Good listener
Sometimes when we have problems, we only need someone to talk to and feel better. Your man needs you to be that good listener who can pay attention to whatever he has to say without judging him. While you may not be in a position to solve his problems, you should be there to listen and let him feel that he is not alone and that you will be with him all through.
Correct him
He is human and will, therefore, make mistakes. He might not even know that he did something wrong until you tell him. It is your duty to help him change and become a better person and this can only happen when you do not shy away from telling him whenever he is wrong. If he is man enough, he will be willing to change for the better.
Help him make decisions
Men can be difficult at times and some will always want to do things their way. But sometimes good decisions are only made after consultations and you should be there for him whenever he needs your opinion before making a decision. Give him your honest ideas and opinions then he can decide what he wants. Even if he does not follow your advice, at least you shall have played your girlfriend role dutifully.
