She is said to be in a critical condition.

According to a tweet by the CS, the ailing woman could not access the hospital using an ambulance due to the poor state of the roads made worse by the torrential rains that have pummeled Hola Sub-County leading to floods.

"The damage caused to the infrastructure by the floods has affected health services including ambulances accessing critical patients like Idino Ali whom we airlifted back to Hola hospital for urgent surgery, " the cabinet secretary wrote.

The predicament of the woman was brought to the attention of the CS by a local chief, a nurse and the Hola Sub Count DCC.

"I thank Haroresa Chief Abubakar Barah, the Nurse Ahmed Hassan and the DCC Hola Sub County for their quick action in alerting us and assisting Idino Ali to get the urgent medical attention she needed, " the CS added.

The woman's story highlights the challenges that the residents of the northeastern region contend with while seeking medical services.

Infrastructure is not well developed making it difficult for cars to move especially during the rainy season.
