ODM party will hold an ‘urgent’ crisis meeting on Monday afternoon that will be chaired by Raila Odinga, who returns to the country after 10-days absence on Monday.
With tension growing within the opposition regarding the choice of NASA flag bearer, Odinga will yet again meet his co-principals on Tuesday for another crisis meeting.
An ODM MP who spoke in confidence says Odinga’s ODM meeting g would explore chances of him going it alone after reading ‘mischief’ in Wiper Democratic Movement.
“We are having an urgent ODM meeting on Monday and we shall discuss possibility of going it alone in polls,” said the Nyanza MP.
He added: “We are tired with individuals who are dragging us back and we want to insist that to the party leader.”
A statement by Odinga’s spokesperson however dismissed reports that Odinga cut short his US trip to attend to a NASA crisis meeting.
“It is untrue that he has cut short his trip. We had indicated that he will be out for a few days and nothing has changed his progeramme,” read the statement.
Confirmed reports by the Daily Nation however indicates that the opposition principals will meet on Tuesday and subsequently hold a joint rally in Nairobi later on this week.
