Uasin Gishu County Assembly Majority Leader Josphat Lowoi has told the Jubilee Party to have all residents in its strongholds, participate in primaries.

According to Lowoi, there were other members supporting different parties but they should be allowed to chose their preferred candidates for the other posts.

"Imagine like Uasin Gishu County we have Jubilee taking all seats but those supporting a different presidential candidate are not allowed to take part in the primaries for Jubilee," Lowoi said.

He said they should not use party list, but allow the use of IDs in voting.

"Our county is cosmopolitan and when it comes to primaries, supporters of ANC, ODM and other parties are only waiting for the general election because they have not candidates for MCA, governor, MP in the county so they have to be given an opportunity to decided their leader on the grassroots," he added.

Speaking, Wednesday, at his office, Lowoi also called for political tolerance in the county and asked residents to vote peacefully.

"Kenya is a democratic society and we should allow everyone to exercise their rights.Let us observe peace this electioneering period," he said.
