A Kisumu based Political analyst, Ibrahim Omani has said that Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o wasted his political career when he vied for the city's governorship.
According to the analyst, Governor Nyong’o is a leader destined for greatness and not mere county politics.
He noted that with Nyong'o's experience in politics, and the different positions he has served in government, he should have gone for a bigger seat.
“Having good role models like Raila Odinga and his Uncle Moody Awori in the circle of politics, many expected the governor should have been in the presidential race in 2013 or even earlier than that. The Governor has had every opportunity to be great,” noted Omani.
Before joining county politics, Nyong’o served as the Minister for planning and national development as well as Minister for Medical services.
He also served as the MP for Kisumu Rural, and as the Secretary General of the ODM party.
