Police in Mombasa county have arrested Airport Ward Member of County Assembly Mr Ibrahim Omondi fondly referred to as 'Bomoa' by his supporters.
According to Omondi's wife Mrs Josephine Ibrahim, 15 police officers raided their Changamwe home at around 5 am on Friday.
Reliable sources intimated that the arrest came after Omondi was heard publicly dismissing President Uhuru Kenyatta as a caretaker president.
“Uhuru Kenyatta should be very careful. He is not even the President of Kenya, he is a caretaker president and he is supposed to respect the constitution just like any other citizen of this country," the MCA allegedly said in the video.
However, according to Coast police boss Larry Kieng, Omondi is in custody over very serious offense on national security.
Omondi becomes the latest NASA politician arrested after contesting Uhuru's powers of incumbency after Embakasi East MP Babu Owino.
