Residents of Karima village In Othaya constituency are a worried lot after their farms invasion by Fall Army Worms.

A farmer Margaret Njeri said they are worried that their farm produce could be lost from the invasion, a thing she says see them unable to feed their families.

Another farmer John Gicheru who says that he has invested Sh5,000 in the farm and is no longer sure of his investment.

The farmers are now calling on the government to help them purchase pesticides to eradicate the worms.

The worms have also invaded farms in Tetu and Kieni constituencies in Nyeri County.

Through a press release to newsrooms, the Nyeri County Agriculture Department says it’s offering extension services to help farmers identify the symptoms and also help them get the right controls to get rid of the army worms.

The department says it has also sought help from the National Government.
