Parliamentary aspirants in Kibra constituency have rolled out a door-to-door campaign mobilizing residents to turn out in large numbers and register as voters.

On Saturday, former ODM leader Raila Odinga's 2013 chief campaigner, Eliud Owalo, launched the exercise in the constituency signifying a looming contest between him, MP Ken Okoth and Mr Odinga's daughter, Rosemary Odinga for the Kibra parliamentary seat.

Mr Owalo who was at Olympic area in the constituency told residents to ensure they register so as to take part in the forthcoming polls.

"I have led thousands of Kibra Residents in conducting a door-to-door Voter Registration Mobilization campaign down the galleys, dingy corners and villages of Kibra constituency," Owalo, accompanied by over 100 youth said.

"We vow to intensify the efforts each day with a view to not only surpassing the set targets but also attaining an unassailable lead nationally."

The Kibra parliamentary race has attracted three key aspirants- current MP Okoth, Rosemary and Mr Owalo.

The three are close to Mr Odinga.

They will tussle it out during the ODM party primaries to chose one candidate who will vie for the seat in August.

The three are already busy campaigning in the constituency.
