Committee members had raised concerns over suspected unscrupulous employment procedures used by Governor James ongwae's team.

The employees were recruited above job group J and were to serve on higher capacities in different departments in the county which caused an uproar from the public.

“We wanted to find out which method they used in hiring the people who were given letters in the county government,” Joash Orora told the reporter.

On Tuhursday, Public Service Board chairman David Kombo said that they had nullified the recent hiring.

“We cancelled all the hiring process after the people raised concern over the same, to a later date,” he said.

The anti-corruption commission had also kicked off investigations over the hiring process saying that the public had raised concerns.

“It is true that there has been an issue raised by the public over the hiring of staff in the county, for that matter we had already kicked off investigations on the same,” said an official from EACC who requested for anonymity as he is not supposed to talk to the media.

EACC is also following a similar case in Nyamira County and has already summoned a number of senior personnel from the county.
