Giving her judgment, Limuru Law Court magistrate, Lucy Chepkoech, stated that John Waweru and Michael Mungai were guilty of the offence.

According to the prosecution, the two were working with Zidisha Microfinance institution in Kikuyu town, and were the ones in charge of the machines’ passwords.

Each held a password which was a personal secret but different from each other.

On November 11, 2014 Sh 500,000 disappeared mysteriously from the ATM and there was no breakages identified.

According to the investigation, CCTV cameras were interfered with, and faced different directions.

The two gentlemen were assigned with the loading of money to the device and nobody else in the whole of the organisation knew how to perform the duty.

The investigation further revealed the individual finger prints on the biometric system which indicated the last time the machines were operated.

The witness from the microfinance, who is responsible for authorisation on loading of money to the system, said that ,there was no work of loading the ATM on the material day thus the two gentlemen were illegally  in the room.
