The General Manager of Al Ghurair Printing and Publishing, Lakhshmanan Ganapathy has confirmed that the first batch of Presidential ballot papers will arrive in the country this Saturday.

According to Daily Nation, the Dubai based company has already printed 18million ballot papers, which translates to 90 percent.  A total of 20 million ballot papers are expected to be printed for the rerun.

The  already printed papers will be used in Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, Isiolo, Marsabit, Tana River and Lamu counties during the October.   Turkana County is also expected to be included in the first batch of ballot papers considering the distance.

Unlike the ballot papers that were used in the August general election, the new ones are grey in color and their serials start from 30,000,000. The firm has also confirmed the printing of all Forms 34A and 34B.

The new development comes at a time when National Super Alliance (NASA) Leaders have maintained that they will not take part in the October rerun after the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) allegedly refused to heed to their demands.

The resignations of IEBC Commissioner, Roselyne Akombe has left the electoral body in another difficult position as the election date draws closer.
