Western Stima goalkeeper Samuel Abawa produced man of the match performance as his team held Bandari FC to a barren draw in their KPL match played at the Mbaraki Sports Club on Sunday.

Bandari who came into the match as favourites looked the better side for the better part of the entertaining game with Mohamed Siraj nearly giving them the lead within five minutes from a free-kick. However, a superb Abawa produced a fine save.Three minutes later, Shaaban Kenga nearly broke the deadlock but the ever-alert Abawa saved his short.After playing at the shadows of Bandari for the better part of the first half, Stima's moment of brilliance came with Brian Marita's shot falling on the path of Duncan Otewa who swiftly cleared the danger to deny the power men an opener.In the second half, the Dockers continued to pile pressure on their opponents but Stima's well-organized defense stood firm amid frustration from Bandari coach Paul Nkata who decided to bolster his attacking line by throwing in Hamisi Mwinyi in place of Ivan Kiwewa.However, the changes could not count for nothing as Stima held on to salvage one point.
