The British American Tobacco- Kenya (BAT Kenya) has been named Top Employer in Africa. The company has also been awarded the 2018 certification in Kenya.

The company received the accolade after being certified as a Top Employer in South Africa, Angola, Mozambique, Kenya and Nigeria by the Top Employer Institute, an independent global certification company.

The company was presented with its certification at the Top Employer Africa 2018 awards ceremony held in Johannesburg, South Africa in October 2017.

The dual certification is in recognition of its dedication to the development of its staff.

Leslie Rance, Head of HR for BAT South Africa, said: “This certification recognises our efforts in building a legacy of leaders through putting our employees first and developing our HR practices. We are incredibly proud of the HR teams that have been actively driving these HR processes.”

BAT-Kenya's Managing Director Beverley Spencer-Obatoyinbo thanked the human resource team for facilitating talent development, building a great cultural environment and for leaving a legacy of leaders.

"We are delighted to be part of a renowned community of Top Employers in Africa," she said.
