Uasin Gishu County Jubilee Woman Representative candidate Gladys Shollei has said she will introduce a bill to have the National Assembly seats bear the names of its members in order to tame absenteeism.

Shollei who spoke on Wednesday in Eldoret said it was the only way to make members of the national assembly to attend to the proceedings.

“I think you have seen mostly the National Assembly is empty even when we have important bills to be debated and passed. I will introduce a bill to have the seats bear the names of the current members so that the media can show who is not in for the electorate to see that their MP is not working,” she said.

According to her, the move will make the MPs vibrant in the parliament.

She said she was disgusted when she found an MP buying suites in a popular boutique in Nairobi yet a bill touching on women was being debated in parliament.

“I told him I wish the electorate could know that he was buying suite instead of attending to the proceedings to make his contribution,” she added.

She said she is enjoying her campaigns and confident of winning during the August 8, elections.

“I got votes across all the communities in Uasin Gishu and I am very grateful for that.I am humbled by their support,” she said.
