Two people  have been shot dead while others sustained injuries during Friday anti-IEBC demonstrations in Migori and Siaya county.

Reports state that the three were shot dead after they attempted to forcefully storm into a police station in Bondo, Siaya county.

In Migori town, 75-year-old Jeniffer Njenda was shot on the right shoulder as she left the hospital for home but after doctors attended to her then said she is now out of danger.

A bodaboda operator was also shot on the thighs as he rode his motorcycle past Migori National Bank branch.

However, Migori county police commandant Joseph Nthenge denied any knowledge of shooting in the region and promise to investigate any such incidents.

Migori town now looks like a ghost town as shops remained closed as protesters and police engaged in running battles, while a few of those still bold enough to operate their businesses in Sori town move around with twigs as a sign of peace.

In Kakamega, protesters said they were disappointed after police chose not to engage them.
