The residents say that the bar and carwash set in the area by unknown persons is not only posing a security threat to them but also causes obstruction of motorists and other road users.

"This commercial activity poses insecurity as thugs may use this location to monitor residents who enter and exit the estate at all times," read the petition.

The residents also complain of wastewater that comes from the businesses which are drained into the nearby Gethathuru River hence causing pollution.

They are asking the county government to investigate the businesses and remove the people running them at the junction of Peponi road on account of insecurity.

"The restaurant is now constructing some permanent structures near the carwash and playing loud music in the night," reads the letter copied to the National Environment Management.

The incumbent governor said he will deal with that issue at the appropriate time.
