Diocese of Mombasa Catholic Bishop Martin Kivuva has lauded NASA leader Raila Odinga for opting to challenge President Uhuru Kenyatta’ election win in the Supreme Court.

Speaking to journalists in Mombasa on Wednesday, Kivuva said Raila's move to go to court will reduce the anxiety that had gripped the country following the announcement of presidential results.The Bishop urged Kenyans to remain peaceful as they wait for the Supreme Court’s verdict.''NASA did the right thing by deciding to file poll dispute in court and this is a good sign for our country's peace," said Kivuva, as quoted by the People daily.Bishop Kivuva appealed to politicians across the divide to exercise tolerance as they await the court’s verdict.On Wednesday, NASA announced that it will be contesting President Uhuru Kenyatta's win in court.The Opposition coalition had earlier ruled out going to court but later made a u- turn which has been welcomed by the clergy and the international community.The Supreme Court will have 14 days to hear the presidential election dispute and make a judgement.
