Former Kilifi North MP Gideon Mung’aro has said Jubilee members and their allies in the region will launch intense campaigns for President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election ahead of the October 17 presidential repeat poll.In line with these, Mung’aro said they have joined forces with other Jubilee friendly parties to ensure Uhuru and his deputy William Ruto garner more votes from the region.He added that they will launch door-to-door campaigns beginning Wednesday at Bamba trading centre in Ganze constituency to rally support for UhuRuto.The Jubilee Party point-man in Kilifi County made the remarks on Saturday where he was joined by former Cabinet secretary Kazungu Kambi of Kadu Asili at Silver palm Hotel in Kilifi.Mung’aro said the parties’ mission will be to ensure Uhuru emerges the winner in the re-run."It is not only Kadu Asili but we have also joined forces with Labour Party of Kenya, Maendeleo Chap Chap, Chama Cha Mashinani and Shirikisho.These are all parties friendly to Jubilee with only one mission of getting the votes for President Kenyatta," he said as quoted by the Nation.On his part, Kazungu said their meeting was aimed at charting a campaign plan for the president."We decided to come together so that we can support President Uhuru win a second term," said Kambi.Both Munga'ro and Kambi unsuccessfully contested the Kilifi governorship in last month’s general election.Governor Amason Kingi emerged the winner in the race to earn a second term in office.
