Kilifi Women Representative Aisha Jumwa has laughed off Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya’s statement that Coast region will vote for Jubilee in August.

Jumwa said the region can never support UhuRuto’s camp adding that the region is firmly in the National Super Alliance (NASA).

Addressing journalists on Wednesday, Jumwa told off Mvurya saying he betrayed Coast people and has no moral authority to speak on the region’s issues.

“Governor Mvurya and other rebels betrayed Coast people by working with the ‘enemy’ and should keep quiet and wait for their political fate on August 8,” said Jumwa as quoted by People Daily.

Jumwa said Coast will not endorse President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election.

“Let Mvurya and those Jubilee spies know that their fate has been sealed and come August 8 they will be going home,” she added.

Jumwa urged Coast residents to stand with NASA saying the Raila Odinga- led alliance will champion the interests of the region which she said the ruling government has failed to address.

On Monday, Mvurya assured UhuRuto of Coast votes, saying Kwale will deliver to Jubilee over 70 per cent votes.

The rebel ODM governor cautioned residents against voting for NASA, saying the alliance has nothing to offer.
