Mombasa County Council of Elders has asked NASA leader Raila Odinga to concede defeat following the outcome of the August 8 polls.

The elders said by conceding defeat, Raila will not only be respected, but will also be regarded as a statesman, thereby cementing his legacy by ensuring there’s peace and not violence.By conceding defeat, the former Prime Minister will be preventing violent protests and deaths which result from post-election demos, added the elders.The council’s chairman Mohamed Jahazi said God didn’t plan the ODM leader to lead Kenya.“Even if you tell people to demonstrate or declare you winner, it won’t happen; you won’t get the seat,” said Jahazi as quoted by the Star.The NASA leader has rejected the presidential results of the just-concluded general election that saw President Uhuru Kenyatta declared the winner by the Independent Election and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).Raila claims the polls were rigged.
