The Assets Recovery Agency (ARA) has taken action to freeze property belonging to three individuals and a car dealer suspected of drug trafficking after being arrested and charged.

A High Court in Mombasa gave orders to ARA to freeze the property of Vicker Mangira, Nabil Loo Mohamed, Bakari Kila Bakari and Ali Card Limited which included cash over Sh21.6 million and eight motor vehicles whose sale is now prohibited.

"It is hereby ordered that preservation order is granted against each one of the respondents or their employees, agents, servants and any other person acting on their behalf prohibiting them from transacting, and or dealing in the seized cash," read the ruling.

The National Transport and Safety  Authority (NTSA) director Francis Meja has been directed by the court to register the records of each of the motor vehicles.

The accused have also been instructed to deliver the original log books of the motor vehicles by Tuesday next week.
