President Uhuru Kenyatta and his main challenger Raila Odinga have been urged to prevail upon their supporters to exercise tolerance during this electioneering period.The two political leaders will face off in a fresh presidential election ordered by the Supreme Court on October 26.Peace ambassadors under the umbrella Uwiano Platform and United Nations representatives have called upon the politicians to cultivate harmonious coexistence as the poll nears."We call upon Kenyatta and Odinga to redeem confidence to Kenyans. We need them to find a political solution that will unite Kenyans. They should know that Kenya is bigger than any individual. We are ready as peace actors to facilitate their dialogue," said Rev Boniface Lokuruka who read a statement by the group.The peace ambassadors drawn from 35 counties held a meeting in a Nairobi hotel on Sunday to discuss matters related to peaceful election.They appealed to leaders in the country to put aside their political differences and focus on fostering unity among Kenyans."We are pleading with the President and the Opposition leader to tone down political temperatures that are threatening peace," said Peacenet CEO Sam Owando.
