Kisii Governor James Ongwae has asked doctors in the country not to give their private facilities first priority.

Speaking in Kisii Teaching and referral hospital on Wednesday, Governor Ongwae he also said that all striking lower cadre health workers will be paid.

"Doctors should not be giving their medical facilities first priority but they work for the people, " he said.

He said that a lot of people were already going to hospital to seek medical attention.

The Governor also said that all the counties from the lake region will be having a conference to discuss ways that can be used to better health services in Nyanza. 

Medical workers in the exception of nurses and doctors in some counties had also downed their tools. 

"Let us work in a smooth way,  no need of demonstrating outside offices each new day everything will be worked on, " governor Ongwae told the demonstrating health workers.
