Garissa Township MP Aden Duale has criticized NASA leader Raila Odinga for trying to change the leadership structure of the country.

Speaking during the burial of the late Nyeri Governor Wahome Gakuru, Duale further took issue with Friday’s chaos in Nairobi, where many lost their lives and property destroyed.

“Yesterday’s (Friday) happenings in Nairobi was not a welcoming party, or a way of showing love to your leader, it was a looting spree. It was meant to destroy people’s property, and this is the question we will put to Raila Odinga, how many people do you want to see lost and property destroyed for you to reach where you want to reach?”

“The only time he got the top leadership post in Kenya is when Kenyans shed blood, in 2007/8, so probably he still dreams that he can only ascend to power by shedding blood,” he added.

“I want to tell him that it’s not the system of the government but the millions of Kenyans who do not want to vote for you, even if we give you the parliamentary system, you will not win,” he went on.

Friday’s welcoming of Raila Odinga turned chaotic, after running battles between the police and the NASA supporters.

Rail has blamed the government for what happened, with the government also accusing Odinga of trying to destabilize the country’s leadership.
