Duale has been holding rallies in his Garissa Township constituency, as he seeks to also defend his seat.

He faces a daunting task to defend the seat, with former Deputy Speaker Farah Maalim eying the seat and vowing to unseat him.

The vocal Jubilee MP held a meeting with opinion Leaders from the Harti Clan of the larger Darood Community comprising of women, youths, businessmen, sheikhs and professionals residing in Garissa.

The MP urged the locals to vote for Jubilee candidates in the area, saying the government has done enough for the North Eastern locals.

He further addressed over 100 low income workers who use donkey carts to earn their daily income, commonly known as (kaareta leey), selling the same message.

With a less than three weeks to the national elections, Duale is leaving nothing to chance in the his quest to defend his seat, choosing to stay away from President Kenyatta’s visit of the coast from last weekend in order to camp in his hometown.

Both the Jubilee and Nasa alliances have their eyes on the over 54,000 votes in the Garissa Township constituency, with reports indicating both parties have an equal opportunity to scoop as many votes.
