Nurses at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) in Eldoret have disowned the Kenya National Union of Nurses (Knun) national Chairman John Bii.

Bii is leading one faction of the nurses Union leadership who are against the ongoing nurses strike that enters its 16th day, Tuesday.

According to MTRH Knun chairman Kennedy Orangi, Bii has betrayed nurses across the country and can no longer be trusted.

"John Bii is an imposter and nurses in county hospitals cannot and should not listen to him anymore," noted Orangi in Eldoret town, Monday.

Bii who is also the Uasin Gishu nurses union Secretary general has termed the ongoing strike as illegal and unprotected.

He has been pushing for the calling off of the strike so that a Collective Bargaining Agreement between them and the Council of Governors (CoG) is negotiated afresh.

However another faction of Knun led b Secretary general Seth Panyako insists the CoG must implement a CBA that was signed last year despite being rejected by the Salaries and Renumeration Commission (SRC).
