President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto will not get votes from Kitui County in the forthcoming general election, Governor Julius Malombe has said.

The vocal governor has pledged to deliver the regions votes to National Super Alliance (NASA) Presidential candidate Raila Amolo Odinga, who is contesting for the Presidency for his fourth time. He assured the opposition that the region will vote as a bloc to ensure that the current government does not retain power come August 8.

He also called upon the votes from this part of the nation to be wary of Jubilee moles as we draw closer to the election date.

Malombe, who is defending his post, further said that the Kamba community cannot afford to let go a chance to join the government. "It is now an open secret. Mr Odinga would be a one-term President and handover the leadership mantle to Kalonzo in 2022. This is an opportune moment for Kambas which cannot be squandered," the Governor said.

Malombe was speaking on Friday in Kanyangi ward, Kitui Rural constituency where he inspected projects initiated by his government since he took over power. He also said that he will beat his rival David Musila when that time comes.
