A former governorship candidate has joined the race for Kisii County senator.
Mr Shem Machoka of People’s Empowerment Party PEP, a hotelier, will now be running against former Unep envoy Prof Sam Ongeri (ODM), Richard Atemba (KNC) and Dr Ben Nyamwega (Wiper) for the seat.
Also interested in vying the seat is Mark Ongeri, brother to the late Nyacheki Ward Rep Peter Nyaega.
“There is graft and poor use of the resources to spur growth. I think this is where the incumbent failed ,” he said.
The son of former Kenyan Foreign Minister and Kisii politician The Late James Nyamweya has promised to redefine the region’s politics.
