Jackson first came out in July 2015 to state that he was a woman trapped in a man’s body. He caused quite the stir when he revealed this very personal information, with most Kenyans, as you would expect, being very critical of his stance.

He posted this on his Facebook when he decided to open up:

“Feeling like I have been living in the wrong body for as long as I can remember. Finally decided to open up to the world!#Transitioning."

His transitioning journey began in 2012 until 2015 where he was put on hormonal replacements in South Africa. He stated that his decision affected his family and majority of the people in his life.

Due to the lack of support in his life, he attempted suicide several times but it failed as he was saved by his friends and family. After failing to end his life, he realized that he needed to turn to something that gave him solace. Jaffar decided to get born again and he did so at the Winners Chapel church in 2016. When he decided to give his life to Christ he said many things unfolded in his life and he even reconnected with his family. He met the love of his life in church and his family welcomed him back as the prodigal son.
