In an interview with The Star, Samboja said he picked Mwaisaka to join his team as chief county administrator because of his vast experience when it comes to matters of administration.

The ex-PS has served in various capacities including in the Constitution Implementation Commission.

Samboja, who won the seat on a Wiper ticket, said he is committed to working with people with the ability to deliver.

“I mean serious business for the Taita Taveta people,” he said.

The Governor-elect has received support from different leaders including Donald Mombo, the Taita Taveta Tsavo Conservation Trust coordinator who has lauded him for picking the retired PS.

“The governor is headed in the right direction. Mwaisaka is a person with proven capacity to deliver. We need this kind of people in his leadership to execute the development agenda,” said Mombo.

Samboja will be sworn in on Monday at Mwatunge Grounds.
