NASA flag bearer Raila Odinga and co-principal Moses Wetang'ula (Ford Kenya) with traditional dancers during their rally in Eldoret on July 26, 2017 [the-star.co.ke].While Nasa presidential candidate Raila Odinga has got all the rights to deploy whatever campaign tactics and gimmicks that may help him dethrone President Uhuru Kenyatta at the ballot, some things he has been doing lately can only reward him with failure come on 'nane-nane'.Odinga, who is making his fourth shot at the presidency and perhaps the last, seems to have taken a slippery path with General election 10 days away which may see him unable to 'cross River Jordan to the promised land'.His Canaan narrative which Political scientist Mutahi Ngunyi has asked him severally to drop saying he does not draw any parallels with the biblical Joshua, may be about to become an empty rhetoric if his current actions lead him to lose fair and square to Jubilee's President Uhuru Kenyatta. And here are some of those actions that Raila is engaging in that are doing him more harm than good.Firstly, Raila has initiated a war with almost all security agencies. From the police, military to the National Intelligence Service, the Nasa flag bearer seems to be at war with all of them. Over the past few weeks, he has literally been on each of these agencies' necks throwing all manner of allegations against them without showing any prove. He believes that the agencies will be used by Jubilee to rig him out. But how and where is the prove? This goes without saying that these unfounded allegations must have put him at odds with these agencies which by now might be loathing the idea of a Raila presidency.Secondly, discrediting the IEBC. If there is one government agency that has endured Raila's wrath, it is the IEBC. Right from the street protests that saw the forced retirement of Isaack Hassan-led commission to the court corridors where the Wafula Chebukati-led commission had to answer to more than 20 cases filed by Nasa, the electoral agency has known no peace under Nasa. The same IEBC, which Raila continues to castigate badly, is expected to hand him first-round victory in less than 10 days. Maybe I could be dead wrong in thinking what am thinking.Thirdly, Raila's usual rants that the election will most certainly be rigged in Uhuru's favour, are likely to discourage his supporters to turn out in big numbers to participate in a 'bungled' process and where the winner is 'pre-determined'.  A slight apathy in his strongholds will see him home at 8am, as political pundits puts it.Finally, he is quickly eroding the gains that his Nasa coalition made in the courts recently. Election experts have argued that Nasa literally managed to seal all loopholes through courts, which may have been used to rig Raila out. But even with these gains, Odinga still believes the election will be rigged against him. This has led many to question his readiness for August 8 poll. Such doubts can only work against him.
