Garissa Referral Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr. Ernest Siwo has dismissed reports that the county has a cholera outbreak.

Dr Siwo has said that all suspected cases were tested for cholera and turned out negative.

In recent days there has been an increase of cholera cases in certain parts of the country with the most affected being the capital city, Nairobi.

There were fears of an outbreak at refugee camps in Garissa.

Siwo has said that elaborate measures have been put in place to ensure that the disease is properly managed in case of an outbreak.
