The National Police Service Commission (NPSC) has assured the police, that they will get a salary hike.

Chairman Johnston Kavuludi said they have been consulting extensively about the matter, and that there is an agreement, for them to get a pay rise, soon.

Speaking during the swearing in of Joseph Vincent Onyango, as the NPSC Chief Executive Officer, at the Supreme Court, Kavuludi urged them to be patient, and wait to receive the good news.

“Police officers should expect a pay rise. I'm not going to put a time limit of days to it but we have been consulting very closely," he said, Thursday.

He added that the Commission was involved in ensuring that the terms and conditions of police officers, especially in regard to minimum pay, is consistent with what other public servants were being offered.

Also present was Supreme Court president, Chief Justice David Maraga.
