Deputy President William Ruto has said that the government is set to tarmac roads in agricultural areas.

Speaking on Saturday, Ruto said that the move will ease the market access for farm produce.

"Agriculture is the mainstay of our economy, employs thousands and feeds the population. It is for these reasons that we are adding kilometres of tarmac to our roads to ease market access," said Ruto.

The further added that the jubilee regime is committed to ensure farmers' produce reach final destination while fresh and reduce consumer prices due to low cost of transport.
