As the general elections near, governors in Gusii region are banking on what they believe to be their flagship projects to endear themselves to their electorates as they strive to retain their seats.

In Nyamira County, Governor John Nyagarama who has more than 7 people eying for his seat

He boasts of improving health facilities, Agriculture sector and to some extend roads.

He has always fended his development records, saying he was on the right track to complete his flagship projects especially in Health and Roads.

“I have improved the county referral hospital which now has equipment like the dialysis machines,” he said.

His opponents claim that the Governor has done so little.

Mr Charles Mochama who lost to the Incumbent Nyagarama told Hivisasa that a lot of money was being misused.

“We need change because the incumbent has achieved dismally especially on development,” he said.

In Kisii County Governor James Ongwae is boasting of an improved Health sector.

Already Kisii County has purchased ten ambulances that have been distributed to all the sub counties.

“The ambulances have save lives of people before devolution Kisii County had one ambulance which could not serve everyone,” Governor Ongwae said.

Governor Ongwae is also banking in the elevating of Kisii teaching and referral hospital into a level six hospital that serves six counties in South Nyanza.

The hospital has also opened the first intensive care unit (ICU) wing of under his leadership.
